Angela Shelton on The State of Things

by Angela Shelton

I am on “The State of Things” on North Carolina Public Radio. It will air on WUNC this Monday, May 12th at 12 p.m. EST. I hope that you can listen in.

The show will be re-broadcast that evening at 9 p.m. and be archived online at www.wunc.org/tsot after that.

Frank Stasio, the host, is amazing and not only talked about my book, but shared a clip from Tumbleweeds, talked about my new show Stirring Up Trouble, and shared how we can create better lives for ourselves and others. It was my favorite interview to date. Especially after being asked by the major media to present myself as a victim! Yes, I have actually been asked to cry and not to appear so awesome (apparently I’m so awesome!). I was told by one major media outlet that since I am so funny and dynamic that they just don’t believe that the abuse happened! Amazing. You can rest assured that I will continue to be what I am which is an empowered woman. Yes, I have a past of abuse (among other things) but I am not enslaved by any of it anymore. I live an amazing life and I want you to too. That’s why I’m doing my new show! And we’re doing it online so I am not censored.
