Dear Angela,

I knew there was a reason I mentioned Preston Sturges.

In that film I mentioned, Sullivan's Travels, there's a brillant scene at the end. John L. Sullivan (Joel McCrea) tells a bunch of reporter after his rescue that he wants to make a comedy. "there's a lot to be said for making people laugh."

I couldn't see you making a "knucklehead" comedy; they don't last. I think you could make a "fish out of water" story -- you have an intelligent character whose in a situation they didn't start and threatens to overwhelm. The comedy is in how they cope.
