The time has come! I’m working on new movies after years of traveling with Searching for Angela Shelton. Plus, many of my supporters, friends and fans are ready for some more humor and have even started a Facebook Page to get me to host Saturday Night Live. That made my day. I had a dream to host SNL when I was young and thought I was going to be acting in comedy movies by now. I didn’t suspect that I’d be bring humor into the trauma and recovery movement! After being a speaker for years, I’ve seen a great need for joy and humor. I think that’s why I’ve spoken at so many places, because I bring levity to a horrible topic. Though I do not and will not make fun of abuse and violence, I have used humor to make it easier for more people to hear the truth about horrible subjects. The movies that I’m working on also address social issues because I can’t help myself but they will be funny.
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they’ll kill you. Oscar Wilde
Now I’m in my hometown of Asheville, NC seeing about how I could bring movies here and thus bring work home and highlight this amazing town. I had a sit down with Gary from Askasheville.com last night to talk about the power of social media:

I thought it was interesting timing that the video that showed up right after this one on YouTube was this interview I did years ago when my book came out:
After supporters shared the first movie I directed and my first published book via Facebook and Twitter and even Myspace, it showed me the power of social media and having direct contact with your audience and listening to them. At my speaking events over the past year I’ve mentioned working on a few comedy movies and so many people have come up to me afterward and asked me to please make more movies and make them funny and then can I please write their life story. I love that. Everyone has a life story. I encourage you to write your own stories and I’ll make more movies.
Thanks for reading! Please comment on my blog and let me know how I can help you, inspire you or just make you laugh. I'm listening. Feel free to email me at angela@angelashelton.com and let me know what you like (or don't like). To keep in touch, connect with me @ Facebook | Twitter
