How To Deal with Panic and Anxiety Triggers

by Angela Shelton

Oh my goodness, I must be busy seeing that it’s already Q & A Day again!

There were quite a few related questions so I’m bunching them all together for one answer and healing technique.

Questions:

I can’t seem to get over this anger and stress I have after my miscarriage that I believe was caused by violence. Have any coping mechanisms for anger and anxiety?

You have inspired me to stop being addicted to my trauma, because I realized I really, really hate it! But I have a question. My dad’s father was the one who abused me, and lately my dad has been aging a lot and he’s starting to look like his dad more and more. I’m finding myself scared to be around him, even though I know he’s my dad and he did nothing. I’m seeing a therapist, but any suggestions to make things easier?

I have a daughter that was sexually abused from age 10 to 13. I am frustrated with the teachers and schools. A teacher my daughter confided in actually as a “pep talk” when my daughter was having a bad day told her it wasn’t so bad because there are people dying of cancer and children starving in africa. I am emotionally exhausted.  The perpetrator was a man I was with for 12 years. I trusted him. So I am dealing with all my own issues, I am grateful I have a good therapist.

Answers:

Though these are varied questions, they have the same theme – anger, anxiety, fear, rage and panic.  After years of trying out all kinds of healing techniques so I could share them with you, I discovered many that work very well and are FREE! One of my favorites is TFT, Thought Field Therapy® (TFT). You can tap to overcome anxiety, fear and stress in minutes.

I’ve heard some people say, “Oh my God, I asked about how to deal with my panic attacks and she tells me to tap? Give me a break.”

I say – give yourself a break! I know it seems like a silly thing (many healing techniques look very whackadoodle!) – but it works. And I’m all about what works. If it’s whacky and makes you laugh along the way – even better!

TFT has what they call Algorithms or “recipes” for where to tap and in what order so that you can address a long list of issues.  The most common issues I’ve heard being asked about are panic and anxiety.

Here are some super simple (and silly) ways to tap your way out of panic and anxiety.

TFT Panic and Anxiety Algorithm Number 1

TFT Panic and Anxiety Algorithm Number 2

TFT Panic and Anxiety Algorithm Number 3

TFT Panic and Anxiety Algorithm Number 4

TFT Panic and Anxiety Algorithm Number 5

TFT Panic and Anxiety Algorithm Number 6

It works if you work it.

There are a few places you can tap just as little refresher courses or a quick fix if you need. For example if you’re in a situation where you feel sadness coming on, you can tap under your nose. Or if you feel yourself getting angry, you can tap the side of your temple. Yes, you might look looney to some, but hey, a little tapping can keep the anxiety away!

Then you can learn to tap dance!

Have you tried tapping? And can you tap dance?

    Hi Angela, Hi y’all,

Yeah I’ve tried tapping and it works great for me. I use the EFT variant for all kinds of stress. It’s a good idea to start of with less intense emotions and try the more challenging ones as you get better.
I can really recommend it as a technique to prevent panic attacks, you can already begin tapping when you feel the emotions bubbling up a little.

    Love,
    Kate ♥

Thank you so much for these tapping techniques. At first I thought it was silly and didn’t think it could help anything, but a few hours after I watched these videos I was feeling really anxious and I just went into my room and tried them, because I thought it was worth a shot. I was surprised at how much they actually helped to calm me down! I realized before that I’d tap my collarbones a lot when I am nervous because it helped calm me down, and now it makes sense as to why.
