I saw this on Ze Frank’s blog after hearing about him at TEDx in Asheville.
When I have spoken about trauma and recovery, I have pointed out that you don’t have to have been a victim of child sexual abuse or domestic violence to have experienced trauma. Neglect is also trauma. And you could read a fashion magazine and be traumatized. I know, I was a model for years. Talk about trauma! Most of those girls are in their early teens selling to middle aged women. Everything is airbrushed, made up, curled, coiffed and calculated. Also most of the models I worked with had the self-esteem of a peanut. I watched so many of them do pounds of drugs, go out with guys who treated them like crap and some ended their lives as addicts. It is amazing what trauma does to the body, mind and soul. The sword of trauma can be anything traumatic. That’s why I wrote the warrior workbook.
This video made me think of trauma on so many levels! It all goes back to loving yourself no matter what. That’s why I’m talking about I Love You, Squish! at TEDx!
