Precious

I just saw Precious.  God bless Oprah and Tyler Perry for financing this movie.  It is hard to find funds for a movie about this subject matter. I know. It’s hard when people ask who wants to see, hear and feel this kind of pain.  I know.  I also know many Precious girls. This story is the truth.  I hope that the women in this movie, Gabourey Sidibe, Mo’Nique,  Paula Patton and Mariah Carey win every possible award there is to win and that Lee Daniels gets his due for having the balls to make this movie and not give up.

As we continue the conversation about child sexual abuse, even though it is hard to hear, see, and feel, we are combating it.  By talking about it, by seeing this film, by making other films like it, and by spreading awareness – we are giving Precious wins to fly like the beautiful butterfly that she is.  Precious is Precious.  Go see it. It’s true.

Right? And the movie was so lovely that it made the heavy part easier to see and hear. I really liked it a lot. Lee Daniels did a fantastic job.

Super super true Angela.. as I sat in the theater with my heart being pierced every other minute by the pangs of raw agony… I said to myself, well – this is reality, for many. This is what needs to be on the screens, on TV's and in our awareness.

Keep spreading those wings so we can spread ours and fly free!

    Love,
    Your friend in NJ ~
