What began as a joke between Asheville native Angela Shelton and her friend, Wendy Murphy, has mushroomed into a national movement to report sexual assault.
I love journalists who get it, listen, and understand. Thank you Leslie Boyd for being aware and Reporting! Although the movie is Searching for Angela Shelton not Looking for…
She travels the country talking to women about healing from sexual assault and will be in Asheville Sunday-Tuesday for book signings, a screening of her film and Angela Shelton Day.
“This is my seventh year doing this, and I think it’s time to move on and do something else,” Shelton said.
She has just begun producing an online cooking show, “Stirring up Trouble.”
“I’m doing it online because I don’t want to be censored,” she said. “Actually, I can’t be censored.”
I’ll be on NPR the State of Things too on May 12th. If the date changes, I’ll let you know.
