I spent 3 days without sugar and dairy and boy was I cranky!

Then I went to speak in San Diego at the Family Violence Sexual Assault Institute, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Vince Felitti. He has been researching the ACE Study for years. (Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)) The study shows that trauma = health issues. When I told him about my history of trauma and that I had asthma he was not surprised at all. The study provides compelling evidence that shows that ACEs are surprisingly common, they happen even in “the best of families," and they have long-term, damaging consequences.

My Assistant, Ophelia, was with me at the conference and when we got back she was brave enough to share her own experiences with trauma and illness.
