What happens when you blog, read other blogs and share blog love? You meet other awesome bloggers! That makes me happy.
One of those bloggers is Kimberly @ Sperk. She listed me along with 14 other awesome bloggers as recipients of the:
Very Inspiring Blogger Award
Awwww. Shucks. Thank you!
The very cool thing about this are the rules to it and how I now get to introduce you to other awesome bloggers that I love. Clever and fun!
It all started with Kimberly’s friend Patricia at Contemplating Happiness. Now that she’s passed it along to moi, I accept the rules.
7 Things About Me
1. I Make Up Songs Every Day
My husband and I sing made-up songs about everything from being out of TP, to what kind of salad dressing we’re making. It’s fun and always hilarious. And I cannot play the guitar – yet! I fake it.
2. My First Concert was Bon Jovi
And right after that was the Monkees – That Was Then, This is Now Tour.
Deep down, I am a rocker chick. And ps – I LOVED Rock of Ages!
3. I’m a Patriot
People can get down on politicians (please vote for term limits) all the time, but please don’t bad mouth this country around me. I could and may one day go on and on about why. In short, I’ve been all over the world (top spots are Kenya, Africa and Paris, France) but there is no place like home.
Being a patriot should not ever be a bad word. I refuse to allow people to hijack that term like they have with many others words these days.
4. I Absolutely Love Greens
That’s collard greens, mustard greens, lettuce, spinach and of course kale. I’ve loved anything green since I was a little girl who always finished her peas.
5. I Love Going Barefoot
My feet are usually dirty since I spend as much time barefoot as possible, except in the water. In the water, I like to wear shoes. Even when I broke my leg, I liked to have my foot free with no bootie.
6. Tilda Pinkerton was Inspired by True Events
Although the big books of Tilda Pinkerton (there are 2 series of books) take place in the Sombrero Galaxy and have all kinds of science fiction fantasy elements, a lot of what happens was definitely inspired by things I have seen, done and been through in my life.
The fact that all the books focus on bigger and rare words is because I had such trouble reading as a young kid. I had a fear of difficult vocabulary and a distain for the dictionary. With Tilda, I chose to embrace the dictionary and make learning fun and exciting for kids. Tilda is the hero I would have wanted as a little girl – so I brought her to life in books!
7. I Gained 30 Pounds When I Broke My Leg
I’ve trimmed off 10 with 20 more to go, but I think I still look good naked. So does my husband.
